If you have young kids, there’s a good chance your calendar is jam-packed with birthday parties to attend every weekend. (We can help you survive that, too). But where should you go in Atlanta when it’s your turn to play host? If you’re like us and would rather not deal with the headache of planning your child’s birthday party in your own home, rejoice! 9. Dinosaur Party at Fernbank Museum

Where: 767 Clifton Road Northeast, Atlanta, GA

When: Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 2pm and 3 to 5pm.

Cost: $375 for members and $425 for non-members.

Includes: Unlimited access to Fernbank Museum for 10 children and 10 adults, two hours in the private party room, use of the birthday dinosaur throne, a t-shirt for the birthday child and goodie bags. Lunch is not included, but available for purchase at the museum’s cafe.

Exhibit floor play time for one hour and 45 minutes, one free museum admission pass for each paid child for a future visit, lunch tables for up to 45 minutes following museum play time, and a party host to assist with food setup and cleanup.

12. Southeastern Railway Museum

When: 10:30am and 1:30pm.

Cost: Gazebo and admissions starts at $185. Train car and admissions start at $275.

Includes: Little train lovers will love spending a day at the Southeaster Railway Museum. The museum doesn’t offer specific party packages, but if your child is all about trains, you can’t beat hosting a party in a retired train car.

Includes: You can dress-up in the boys’ and girls’ playroom; pet, feed and visit with the animals; and even get your face painted. Kids will also get a piece of pottery or pre-sketched canvas to paint and decorate.

Includes: Rental of the Birthday Party Pavilion for 90 minutes, 16 admission tickets (good for all guests ages 3 and up), guest seating for up to 50 guests, disposable tablecloths, plates, cups and napkins, catering for 16 guests (adults and children age 3 and up). For lunch, the pizza party package includes one large slice of pizza per person (choose from pepperoni or cheese), assorted chips, juice box or bottled water, double-chocolate brownie delight or cookies. Additional services available for fee including face painting, animal encounters and more.

26. Farmer Sue at the Art Barn

When: Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to noon, 1 to 3pm and 4 to 6pm.

Cost: Starting at $425.

Includes: Meet, pet, hold and brush a variety of clean, friendly farm animals, then take time for refreshments and a hayride. Tables are already set with linens and center pieces. All guests take home a coloring sheet along with a piece of art they make at the party. Hand-lead pony rides may be added for additional cost.

For the dramatic and artistic set

Cost: Tickets available for as low as $10 per child.

Includes: Although there are no special party packages or private tours available, a trip to the ballet can be a magical experience for any aspiring ballerina!
